The Orthodox Academy "St. John of Neamt"

 

The Orthodox Academy "St. John of Neamt" - center of spirituality and orthodox culture is organized as subunity of the Metropolitan See of Moldavia and Bucovina and organizes cultural-theological and pastoral educational activities, in order to obtain some income for the support of the activities with missionary, social and spiritual character of the Metropolitan See of Moldavia and Bucovina. The Administrative office of the Academy is in Iasi in the framework of the the Cultural Department of the Metropoly of Moldavia and Bucovina, and the main spaces for the conferences are in the Eastern branch of the Main Building of the Theological Seminary from Neamt Monastery. The Academy has 60 places for the accomodation in rooms of 2-3 persons with its own toilet room and modern sanitar installations. The Conference room has 150 places , and for the prayer and for the service the Acaderrmy possesses also a paraclisis. Concerning the activities of tourism and pilgrimage, in the framework of the Academy there are guides among the teachers who speak English, French, German, Italian, Greek.
Among the objectives of the Academy we mention: the knowledge of the modern orthodox spirituality in a ecumenical and international dialog,< the promotion of the pastoral activities , missionary and educational initiated by the Orthodox Church involvrd in the Romanian Society, with the participation of christians from the whole country and from abroad as well. The procedures followed in the fulfillment of these objectives are: the organization of the seminars, colloquia, national and international conferences on themes of nowaday's interest, the realisation of the training and education programs of the youth.< the organization of sportive touristical-religious actions with the young people and other social categories (as mentioned in the Status). These spaces of the Academy are in the well-known zone of the Monasteries of Neamt and the natural landscape is one of the best in the area.
